Results of Air Dose Rates Measured by Route Buses in Fukushima Prefecture (4 buses, Jan. 2013-) - Weekly Average ( From April 2014 to March 2015 )
  1. This data was created based on the Air Dose Rate Measurements using Fixed-Route Buses in Fukushima Prefecture (4 Route Buses, From April 2014 to March 2015) released to the public through the JAEA website.
  2. For the measurement, the KURAMA-II system equipped with a CsI (Tl) scintillation detector was used.
  3. The measurement data is subjected to the following correction processing on the measured value of KURAMA-II. The purpose of this process is to convert the internal air dose rate to the value of outside the vehicle at the height of 1m from the ground by correcting the characteristics of the circuit of the detector.
    • H (corrected dose rate in the vehicle) = M / (1-0.0027 × M): M is measured dose rate
    • Corrected air dose rate = 1.6 (correction coefficient) × H (corrected dose rate in the vehicle )
  4. KURAMA-II acquires the measuring position information from the GPS receiver and errors caused by the reception status of radio waves is inevitable. Therefore, we have implemented the following processing.
    • Deleting data when its precise location could not be acquired.
    • Correction of the position information based on the road data.
    • Deleting data in the tunnel or under the overpass (where is not contaminated).
  5. Data of measurement points are summarized with generally 100 m × 100 m grid. Weekly averages are described as air dose rates of the grids. Considering contribution of Cs-137 and Cs-134 to the gamma ray and accuracy of GPS (approximately ± 10m), the 100 m x 100 m was chosen as a size of grid.
